Time of Philip I, 244-249. Koinon of Macedon. Triassarion (Bronze, 27 mm, 10.80 g, 12 h), stating the name of the capital of the Koinon, Beroia, c. 246. AΛEΞANΔ - ΡOΥ Head of Alexander the Great to right, wearing crested Attic helmet with griffin running to right on the bowl. Rev. KOI MAK / .Β. /N/E/ΕΝ ΒΕΡΟΙ /.Α. Two prize crowns, each containing a palm branch. AMNG - (cf. 869 as diademed and variations on obverse and reverse legend). With an attractive olive-tan patina and an unusual helmeted portrait of Alexander; very uncommon with the city name. Slightly off-center on both sides and some minor marks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

This is one of the last coins issued in the name of the Macedonian Koinon.
